A base-isolation system of triple-friction-pendulum bearings decouples the superstructure from ground motion, cutting the peak acceleration transferred into the building by roughly 40%.

The design was verified through nonlinear time-history analysis against a suite of site-specific ground motions, pairing the isolation layer with supplemental viscous dampers to control residual drift.
